The idea is that he is a backup dancer for Beyonce’s newest video and it goes from there.  The shortened version only shows the dancing portions and not the small talking bits that were a major portion of the skit.  In time, the skit will be on some sort of SNL compilation video because the story goes that he signed a contract with SNL before he appeared stating that he would receive any revenue associated with his appearance.

Enjoy the video, it’s funny, but not as funny if the entire video could be shown.

The reason I say it’s a new/old commercial is that it looks like it appeared late last year.  I guess their advertising dollars are a little tight this year as they are for most companies.

It looks like Jack in the Box has a fairly standard type of commercial idea these days.  They come up with some sort of promotion and then throw in a physical gag to make it memorable.  I guess it works because I for sure remember their commercials.  One made me absolutely hate their product and the other has made me laugh even though I will still never buy that particular product.

I will stick with my $1 junior bacon cheeseburger and $1 chicken sandwich.  If I don’t buy one of those, I get the Jack’s Spicy Chicken with cheese.  Let’s hope they don’t make a dumb commercial for any of those because then I would have to stop eating there all together.

Sometimes, I know things can go wrong and miss the point but this one is off the charts in my opinion.  From the original bad idea, to presentation and acceptance, to filming the commercial, to pitching the commercial to the product owner, and then the ultimate payment for the product and placement on television, there is a litany of BAD DECISIONS!

They may be good to eat, but I will never know because this is a stand I must take!

The video itself doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me in that it doesn’t really follow the lyrics or anything.  I guess it made Metallica happy though…
