After a week of hunting, my dad finally got his deer!  With about 20-30 minutes of his hunting season left, he got his deer, a button buck.  We saw the deer but couldn’t get a kill shot on it earlier, so we waited to see if there were more around and nothing was happening.  I changed positions and saw the deer once again.  It was at very long range and I didn’t adjust far enough so I shot under the deer.  Hoping that I sent the deer hopping towards my dad, I went to see if I had in fact missed.  Not much longer, I heard a shot, followed by another a minute or so later.  The deer had circled around and he got him on the 2nd shot after it cleared the underbrush.

I’m coming out with no deer, but my dad got one, my brother in law got one, and my nephew got 2 on his first ever deer hunt.  Not a bad week for the guys from Arizona coming back home for a family hunt.  We cut up 4 deer tonight and got most of the meat de-boned and cut out so there won’t be a ton of work for them when they get back home.

As for the movies, I got to watch Wall-E and Tropic Thunder this week.  As I said earlier, Tropic Thunder is funny, even if stupid.  I enjoyed Wall-E more than I thought I would.  If you can stand some cussing and stupid funny, rent Tropic Thunder.  If you like animated movies, give Wall-E a shot, it’s worth the rent.
